Hoppy 2 Year Ampuversary to Me!

It’s me, Butchey Hudson.  We are going to get fired from this blogging business, because our last post was in March.

But we are definitely posting today, because it is my 2 Year Ampuversary!!!

Momma says she can’t believe it, she is so happy she still gets to rub my belly and scratch my butt everynight.  Even when I ask her for a bum scratch when she is sleeping.  She loves me.

So – but of course – Cheesy Eggy Goodness.  With candles no less!

I even got presents!  Momma got me a big squishy bone, and Nana got me a big squishy ball.  I also got a new bed for my crate and new food bowl holders.  Although, I don’t think those had anything to do with my Ampuversary. I pooped in my bed a while back, so I needed a new one.  The food bowl holders might have something to do with the impending mobility of the Hairless Pup.  Momma said something about easier to clean.  But here I am tucking in to my new squishy ball after lavishing in my C.E.G. DSC_0411

I love squishy things.

Let’s see, what else?  Well I actually had some shrinkage in my tumors a few months back.  We gave Oscar and Felix, the unnamed ear lump and The Manitou a ‘what-for’.  I had another two treatments of Adriamycin and that got us that shrinkage.  But now I cannot have any more of that, so it we are trying Mitoxantrone.  I have had two doses of that and we re-scan my lungs in a couple of weeks to see if it is working at all.  So far, I am handling the treatments very well.

Other than that, I had some really bad allergy (tree pollen has been terrible this year) and skin issues that finally seem to be resolved (thanks to cephalexin) and I had the Clap again.  :0(  Oh well, that got cleared up, too (also thanks to cephalexin).  So I am back to feeling good.  Lola is still a pain in my tail.  I get lots of scraps from the table (no carbs, though).  Life is good!  I’ve still been Rallying and earned my Veteran title.  That’s for us dogs age 8 and over.  Lola got some stinking big prize, too.  Here is a picture of us.  She’s such a show-off. photo10

I hope everyone is doing well.  I’ve been promised some swimming time up at the lake house as soon as the pollen subsides up there.  Hopefully we’ll have some pics again real soon.  Until then, enjoy some loungin’ time!

Belated Hoppy Halloween!

Hey everyone, it is me again, Butchey Hudson.

Just a quick check in to let everyone know we had a Hoppy Halloween. Hope you all did, too.  No dogs got into any candy here at our household.  Chocolate is bad, bad for us dogs.  Just ask my Momma and Dada.  A long long long long long time ago, they FREAKED when I got into a chocolate cake on the counter.  Momma didn’t have a happy birthday that year.  The frosting was delicious though.  It got stuck all up in my gums and I thought I’d be snacking on that for a while, but then they made me throw up.  That was not fun.  Anyway…no issues like that this year.

If anyone was wondering…yes – they did make me and Lola dress up.  How humiliating.  I won’t post the pictures, I am so ashamed.  But here is a nice one of me and the pesky little sister.

So things have been going well.  I’ve been doing really great and feeling good.  I did some Rally-O and CDSP Obedience the past couple of weeks.  But I’ve been running out of the ring again because I am just sooooo goofy.  Momma still loves me though.  I still had fun.  I earned my first qualifying score in the Rally Veterans class (which I can now enter because I’m 8 years young now!)  Momma says “Old Dogs Rock!”

So, you know those Boppy things they make for babies?  They are pretty comfy.  They aren’t just for babies anymore, they are for Butcheys, too.

So in a couple of weeks I get another set of X-Rays on my lung mets and see what they are doing.  Hopefully nothin’.  But we will let you know.

Until then…keep on keepin’ on hoppin’!!

Hoppy New Year

Hoppy New Year everyone!  We are hoping 2012 is a great year for all of us Tripawds.  Like the Tripawds saying goes, it is better to hop on 3 legs, than limp on 4!

I had a fun filled December.  I did some more CDSP obedience and Momma even entered me for an APDT Rally trial.  I did my first ever triple Q since becoming a Tripawd.  There is that number 3 again, maybe it is my lucky number now.

For Christmas I got my stocking filled with lots of good stuff.  Here is me wondering why my stocking has not been stuffed yet.  You’ll notice the MonkeyButt Lola waiting on the sidelines to bite me in one of my remaining three legs to thieve my stocking stuffers.

We got magic mushrooms (no, not that kind) from Santa Paws.  Here is me trying to figure out how to get the cheese out.

Now I like to lay down with these puzzles and try to work it out.  Lola just took hers and rolled it around the entire house, crashing and smashing it into everything.  Walls, chairs, whatever.  She sure can make a raucous.

Momma & Dada also took us to get our picture taken with Santa Paws.  But this isn’t the REAL Santa Paws.  This is Dr. Tucker (who incidentally did my amputation surgery) dressed up as Santa Paws.  He didn’t give me back my leg for a Christmas present though.  Ha ha ha!  He took very good care of me, and it was nice to see him again without any surgical tools.

And here another picture, so you can see how Momma humiliates us.  Oh the shame…

What else?  I went and did some PT work and hydrotherapy swimming.  I played with a ball in the pool and had a really fun time.  Here is me trying to get Momma to come and play in the pool, too.  But she must have not have had a floaty, because she didn’t come in with me.

That is all for now.  Our new years pawsolution is to post a bit more.  =0)

I can’t type, I don’t have thumbs

It is Butchey Hudson here.  I haven’t updated in a while, but that is Momma’s fault.  I can’t type, I don’t have thumbs.  So Momma has to do it for me.

So I started chemo on July 8 and did very well after the treatment.  But then on day 11 I got real sick with something called like…sepsis?  I got a high temp of 104.something and was real tired and not hungry at all.  I ended up having to stay in the doggie ER overnight and the NICE LADY there (Momma called her a -vet tech-) made me an egg and it was very yummy and I ate it all up.  I guess Momma got worried about me.  She forgot my food smells funny bad icky when I am on antibiotics and I don’t like some of the stuff her and Dada put in there for me.  ICK on that stuff!

But eggs are really good!!!!  My friend Maggie’s Mom gave Momma the egg idea.  I do like a runny yolk…..

This Friday I go back for chemo again.  Every 3 weeks.  Momma and Dada think they might change my dosage a little.  I hope I do OK, and I hope somebody makes me eggs afterwards.  I also start physical therapy on Saturday.  I wonder if there are any eggs in physical therapy.  Momma mentioned an egg and a ball together in the same sentence, but I think she’s talking about something different.

I am doing very well, though.  I LOVE my Tripawd harness that my Dada ordered from Jerry.  My seroma sore is nearly closed.  Chemo slowed it up, but slow and steady wins the race.  Getting around on 3 legs isn’t so bad.  The only things I can’t do is scratch one side of my face and <Momma’s edit HUG> my sister, Lola.  So I learned if I make a certain face at my people they come and scratch that side of my face.  And my sister….well I haven’t figured out how to <Momma’s edit HUG> her yet.  It seems some things you do need two rear legs for….hmmmmm

I had a REALLY special day on Sunday.  Momma is trying to upload the video to something called YouTube.  Maybe we will post that later.  This and me and my sister, Lola.  She is a pain in my tail most of the time.

Woofs and wags, Butchey Hudson
